Kollam Tulasi whose real name is K.K. Tulasidharan Nair was born on May 29, 1949. Kollam Tulasi has played excellent characters in both Cinema and Serial Industry. He began acting in stage plays while in school itself. In college, he won the best actor award several times. Later, he went on to become a Government Servant but did not stop acting. His first film was Aambalpoovu, directed by Harikumar in 1979. He has played the roles of Minister and M.L.A in almost 85 movies and has mostly portrayed villainous characters in cinema and serials. His popular movies would include Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, The King, Commissioner, Lelam, Godfather, etc. He did many programmes (more than 300 radio dramas) for All India Radio, acted in more than 200 films, and almost same number of tele serials. The actor is also a writer and a poet having published several of his works. He is also a renowned social worker and is the regional Chairman of Health Oriented Programmes Establishment based in Kannur, Kerala. He is married to Vijaya Devi and has a daughter Gayathri.
