Santhosh George Kulangara

Santhosh George Kulangara is an entrepreneur, a celebrity, and an Indian Publisher. He is a Journalism and Mass Communication Graduate. His Journalism journey began in 1992 by creating telefilms and documentaries for various television channels. He founded and is the Managing Director of Safari TV- a channel broadcasting in the Malayalam language for travel and history-based programs. He founded Safari TV on 1st November 2013 and is the “Chief Explorer” of Safari TV. In the Labour India Publications- an educational publisher based in Kottayam District of Kerala, he is the head. He got the leadership when he was just 26 years old. In addition to this, he has traveled to more than 130 countries and seven continents as of 2021. He started his solo travel journeys in 1997. All the experiences he gains in his journey are shared through Sancharam- the first telecast of a visual travelogue in Malayalam. His journey in Sancharam began in 1997 and, the first-ever episode broadcasted in 2001. Recently in 2021, he was appointed as a “part-time expert member” of the Kerala State Planning Board.

He was also the first Indian who was included among a group of people who paid to make a suborbital trip in a spaceship as a part of the Galactic space tourism initiative. He is also known as “India’s first space tourist.” For his career in directing, he directed and produced an English movie- Chandrayaan; along with this, Santhosh has produced many telefilms and documentaries. His traveling experiences helped him write seven books. Along with writing many books, he has also won many awards like- the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for the Best Travelogue in 2012, Asian Television Award, K.R Narayanan Award. Outstanding Young India National Award and the list goes on and on. He has made a significant amount of contributions to the Television Industry. He is married and has two children.
