Aparna Viswanathan

Aparna Viswanathan is the founder of Zocio, an organization that deals with learning and social-emotional health. She is an educationalist, independent media contributor, anchor, and journalist. She did her MBA in entrepreneurship from Pondicherry University. She is an IIM Bangalore alumni. Aparna completed her PG course in Journalism and Communication with a gold medal. Her interest in studies didn’t decrease a bit, even after completing post-graduation. She had been doing research studies and had done a PG Diploma in women and gender studies. Aparna deals with people of all ages and discusses their needs and issues. Aparna is a columnist in Mathrubhumi and Economics Daily.

She started her career as an anchor in Doordarshan with the Rangoli show. At that time, she was in her college. Later, she worked in some private channels as a newsreader. She was the youngest newsreader at that time. She had been a stage show host and TV and radio voice-over artist. In 2010, she was nominated for the Young Creative Entrepreneur in Communication in India. In 2012, she got featured in BizInked as a Promising Entrepreneur. Aparna was one of the finalists at the She News Award 2019. She had also featured in the book Women Who Ventured as one of the eight women entrepreneurs who have inspiring stories. She had also got a place in Limca Book of Records.  Aparna created an animation series for children, Kuttapayi, in vernacular language.

She founded RACE, a firm that assists students and professionals. She is the co-founder of an educational platform, Transstream. Aparna had always wanted to connect with society, especially the children, which is why RACE is found. Aparna is passionate about social intelligence, and that’s the story behind Zocio. Besides connecting with the children, teachers, and professionals, Aparna had been visiting colleges as the guest lecturer. She had also hosted parenting workshops, communication training, and empowerment programs for women, etc.
