Ayoob Khan is an upcoming Indian film editor who is known for his contribution to Keralite cinema universe. As per his Facebook profile, he has mentioned Kayakulam as his hometown. Ayoob completed his schooling at VHSS Chathiyara, Sooranad, and passed out from the school in 2001. In future, he would go on to take admission in Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara, Alleppy district in the year 2006. Having been involved in low-profile videos and documentaries, he has Sir Laddu and Valkittentha Paripadi to his credit. Sir Laddu is an online comedy directed by Siddique and edited by Ayoob.
This ten-minute movie amassed a considerable number of views to garner popularity among the Malayalis. Later, he progressed to the big screen as he became an independent editor for the critically-acclaimed Drishyam starring Mohanlal. Ranked as one of the best Indian crime dramas, most of the journalists praised the direction of
and Ayoob’s excellent editing. As a result of its success, Drishyam yielded remakes in regional languages. On 22nd September 2013, he got engaged. In 2015, he edited Saaradhi. Once again, Ayoob got united with Jeethu Joseph for the light-hearted project “Life of Josutty.” Dileep played the protagonist’s role in this family entertainer.
Upon the release, Life of Josutty received mixed reviews with the critics pointing out the need for a sharper editing by Ayoob. Nevertheless, people loved this motion picture for its story. In the same year, he was the principal editor of Papanasam, the official Tamil remake of Drishyam. In an interview, he said that the audience noticed his work in the climax better. With Jeethu authoring the story, the film revolves around the convict duo who escape from the police and get to know each other. Aroop currently resides in Kochi and organizes workshops regularly. He interacts with his fans on social media and has encouraged fellow aspirants to follow their dreams.
