One of the most educated personalities of the Malayalam Film Industry is Satish Paul, a director. Before a film director, he is a professor of Mechanical Engineering. He is very versatile with expertise and accolades in not only Engineering, but in Arts, Literature, and Sports. He was born in Muvattupuzha, Kerela. He is the one and only son of the late T.J. Paulose and the late M.Y. Annamma. He also has a sister Dr. Rani Paul who lives in the UK. Satish grew up in Nellimattom near Kothamangalam where he started his studies. His initial schooling was in St. John’s High School, Nellimattom. He later moved to De Paul English Medium Boarding School in Thodupuzha. He then pursued his graduation from Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam. From here he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Technology.
He later migrated to Canada to pursue Post-Graduation. He joined the School of Engineering, University of Guelph. From here he completed his Masters in Engineering. From the same University, he decided to pursue a Ph.D. This was due to lack of funding that he had to drop his Ph.D course from the University of Guelph. Satish was married to Sheeba Abraham but due to the untimely end to his Ph.D affected his married life. After this incident, Satish and Sheeba got separated, and Satish returned to India. The pair do share a son, Sheldon Abraham Paul, who lives in Toronto and studies at Concordia University. Satish’s journey in the film industry started while he was very young.
His first exposure to the film was when he was credited with Mechanical Special Effects in the movie Chanakyan, directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar Rajeev Kumar is an Indian visual effect artist who >> Read More... . He professionally studied film making while in Canada. And when he came back to India, Satish was trained by the famed screenwriter and director duo Siddique-Lal. Under the direction of Siddique, Satish acted as a Script Associate for the movie Chronic Bachelor, which released in 2003. Satish also contributed to the movie For the People, directed by Jayaraj. In 2004, Satish was ready to work alone. He developed the story and directed his movie Finger-print, a science thriller. The movie released in February 2005 but no critic took notice of it, and the movie did not do well in the box-office. His next screenplay was Oru Mazhakkalath and was published as a book. His latest movie is Kattu Vithachavar which he directed and was released in 2018.
