Basil Gershome

Basil Gershome is a young actor and director in the South Indian film industry, known for working in Malayalam movies and web series. He has created several Malayalam web series and short films. His debut series was Ding Dong which has three episodes and was a hit project he produced as the audience loved the situational humor and outstanding performance by cast. On the success of the series Basil shared that when they had started the production of the series, it was supposed to be just one episode. However, the story progressed while they were shooting as they kept receiving necessary information from all the sources. They hadn’t started with a well composed script but just a story thread.

However, by the time they uploaded the second episode, the series caught on. They were planning to take a break before shooting the third episode. But, viewers started commenting on various contents by SUB Originals asking them for the final episode. Basil Gershome has also produced as well as acted in a famous Malayalam short film named Chettan which was a simple comedy based on a story about two brothers, Aswajith and Viswajith who get into a humorous conflict over a beautiful lady who moves in next door. On the success of the movie he quoted, thing that interests him is the simple lives of everyday people and he is more comfortable with short films as he can convey what he wants to say and has more creative control in short films. After this, Basil produced another hit Malayalam series Poocha (2023) which contains two seasons followed by a short film Little Flower (2024) produced by Mt. Carmel Convent School, Katol.
