Harshika Poonacha predominantly works in Kannada films. She has also tested waters in Telugu, Konkani, Tulu and Kodava films. The 2008 flick PUC is her debut film. Born on May 1, 1990 Harshika hails from a small village in Karnataka. She was in her 18th year when she did her first film. 

Harshika had a brief stint as a television show anchor. Hrudayadinda, Nimmindha Nimagaagi and Sarigamapa reality show in television are some of the programs that she hosted. She has a B.Tech degree to her credit and is a distinction holder. At this juncture, she took a halt from her shooting works to prepare for her forthcoming exams. Harshika is also working in Maxpro Software Company for 5 days monthly and the rest of the days she works in films. She is quite happy working in Maxpro Harshika didn’t imagine entering the film industry. Harshika worked in one film each in Kodava, Konkani and Telugu, after completing her PUC. The 2010 flick Jackie helped her attain stardom. The flick Thamassu with Shivrajkumar fetched her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. Harshika also garnered the Suvarna Award for this film.

Anandha Thollai is Harshika’s first Tamil film, which is in the pipeline. Harshika, along with her cousin, Bhuvaan Ponannaa, manages Glamgod Fashion and Events. She also organizes fashion weeks and fashion shows. Harshu is the other name of Harshika. Harshika has indeed achieved a lot in a very short span of 4 years. She is academically good and has proved her acting talent to quite an extent.
Haripriya Kannada Actress


Shruthi is the original name of Haripriya, who is a south Indian actress. Hailing from Chikkaballapura, Karnataka, she is also a Bharathanatyam dancer and model. Her maiden venture is in a Kannada film named Manasugula Mathu Madhura. Later, her films didn’t do that well. However, she got Filmfare nomination for her good performance in the political movie Kallara Santhe. The film Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu gained her much appreciation and she became famous in Karnataka. She also acted in a couple of films in Tamil and Telugu.    Shruthi proved her dedication towards acting by taking up a workshop for her role in the Telugu venture Abbayi Class Ammayi. Her Kannada film Ugramm was her acclaimed comeback to Karnataka. She gave a natural performance in the film. Later she worked in big banner films in Karnataka.    Shruthi has some releases lined up in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. Shruthi’s grandfather was a theater artiste .   Another Version   Born as Shruthi, the actress changed her name to Haripriya, which acts as her stage name. Following the recent trend to turn the factors of luck, based on numerology the actress altered the spelling of her name to Hariprriya. She was born in Chikkaballapura, Karnataka and studied at Vidya Mandir. Hariprriya completed her Pre-University Course and started learning Bharatanatyam in Bangalore. She claims to have been inspired by her grandfather, who was a theater personality himself.  Hariprriya made her debut in acting with a Tulu film, Badi, directed by Richard Castelino and later on, starred in other languages such as Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. In 2008, she made her first appearance on the Kannada film screen with the movie, Manasugula Mathu Madhura, which wasn’t much of success. After a few unsuccessful projects, Hariprriya got her first Filmfare nomination as the Best Kannada actress with the political satire, Kallara Santhe in 2009. The movie was directed by D. Sumana Kittur and starred other actors such as Yash, Rangayana Raghu, Kishore, and Sobhraj. Hariprriya’s popularity rose with her next film, Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu, and with that, she started receiving offers from directors of other languages. In 2010, she starred in Kanagavel Kaaka, a Tamil film directed by Kavin Bala. The movie was produced by Saravana and Kishore G. Sha under the production company of Akarshini Theatres and was received with a moderate review.  Later on, Hariprriya appeared in a Telugu film, Thakita Thakita, which was Bhumika Chawla’s first production. The movie was a moderate success, and the actress left a good impression on the Telugu audience, due to which was asked to star in the movie Pilla Zamindar along with Nani. Pilla Zamindar is one of those movies that never get old no matter how many times it is watched, and the actress proved to be a good part in making the movie worthwhile to watch. Hariprriya then went on to act in Malayalam with the movie, Thrivambadi Thampan, a thriller film directed by M. Padmakumar. The movie also stars Jayaram and features the Kannada actor, Kishore. The movie turned out to be a family entertainer and was received with positive reviews. After that, Hariprriya filmed her third Telugu film, Abbayi Class Ammayi Mass along with Varun Sandesh directed by Koneti Srinu. For the movie, Hariprriya underwent a two-week-long workshop for her role as a call girl. She then went on to film, Ugramm, a Kannada cinema which earned her a longing impression as a natural actor and was offered roles in various films such as Ranna and Rikki. Her latest venture is a Malayalam film, Bhadrasanam, a sequel to the movie Anandabhadram. Hariprriya is also part of other Kannada films which are under filming.

Disha Poovaiah is a Kannada film actress. Like all newcomers, she was also a dream chaser and wanted to join films at any cost. Her fans would see her again in Dandu and Naam Life Story, which also revolves around the true story of six Bangalorean friends. Both Dandu and Naam Life Story, is under production still. She is the face of new generation cinema and younger generations might see her in many movies that could push her to the successful heroines list. She has fulfilled her dream to land in silver screen, now the challenge lies far ahead.
