Avinash Shetty has got his degree in Basics in Human Resource Development (BHRD) from SDM College of Management in Mangaluru. As a young man, Avinash Shetty aspired to be a cricketer and even played for the Mangaluru zone. He never considered acting, and this pull towards the art happened during his college time. Avinash Shetty hosted a lot of events in his college and got a lot of chances to perform on stage.

This exposure made him discover the new side of himself and boosted confidence. Since then he aimed to become a famous actor. In his final year, his friend also suggested Avinash try his luck in the entertainment area but further motivated him. Avinash Shetty won the title Mr. Mangaluru in the year 2007. In the year 2012, Avinash Shetty won the title of Mr. South India after which he got offers from the Kannada film industry.
