Frank Fernandes, commonly known as Frank Fernand Frank Fernand, also known as Franklin Fernandes, w >> Read More... , was a famous Indian film producer and musician known for his works in Konkani and Hindi cinema. He was born on 3 May 1919 in Vodlemol Cacora, Curchorem, Goa. His first wife was Maxi Perera, and they have two daughters named Elphin and Doris. Madalena Velho was his second wife, and they have a son and a daughter with her named Max and Larissa. Frank mastered violin and trumpet at an early age and began his initial music training with Diego Rodrigues. He moved to Bombay in 1936, where he started working with George Theodore, a renowned band leader, and performed at Green's Hotel and The Taj Mahal Hotel.

He got influenced by Mahatma Gandhi after listening to one of his lectures and started playing jazz in Indian style. Frank Fernand got influenced by Jawahar Lal Nehru after reading his autobiography, The Discovery of India, which made him patriotic. Frank left Mumbai in 1942 to play with Rudy Cotton's band in Mussoorie and returned to Mumbai in 1946 as a fine Jazz musician. He joined Micky Correa's band in Mumbai for his additional practice and excellence. In 1963 he made his first film under his banner, Frank Films in the Konkani language, titled Amchem Noxib, directed by A. Salam. The film starred C. Alvares, Seby Coutinho, Kid Boxer, and other Konkani stars. In 1966, he again worked with A. Salam, in a Goan-Konkani movie, Nirmon, starring C. Alvares, Shalini, Anothony D'Sa, Ophelia, Souza Ferraro, Antonette, and Jacinto Vaz.

It was the first Konkani movie to win a Certificate of Merit for regional films at the hands of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In another of A Salam's movies, Mhoji Ghorkam, Frand Fernand worked as a music scorer. He debuted in the Bollywood film industry as a filmmaker in 1965 with a Tanuja and Sanjeev Kumar starring movie Priya. Frank made another film, Ahat, inspired by an English psychological thriller, Wait Until Dark, which remained unreleased. Frank Fernand was a classical jazz player and staged a musical theatre entitled Bekar Patrao in 1980 with a ten-piece orchestra.

One of the notable concerts by Frank Fernand has organized in 1958 and played Evolution of Music, Jazz, Negro Spirituals, Dixie Land Jazz, Sound of America Commercial Musical, and Symphony Jazz. Frank played a vital role at the beginning of the book The Taj Mahal Foxtrot by Naresh Fernandes. Frank Fernand died on 1 April 2007 due to a brain disorder disease Parkinson's.
