Srinivas Thimmaiah

Srinivas Thimmaiah is Indian film director, working in the Kannada film industry. He has always had a curiosity and passion for cinema and observed the bonds between Arts and Commerce. He started gaining knowledge about Art and the Entertainment Industry. His career began as a Title and Ad graphic Editor, initially for Business India Television and later with Hathaway Cable and Datacon Bengaluru under Kite Entertainment. He got involved in ad making, corporate films, documentaries etc. His writing skills and farsighted vision led him to the world of Cinema and soon he began directing movies. He got an offer from Bangalore-based Production house to direct a film named “Nannu Matthu Gunda” in 2020, based on an emotional journey between a dog and a man.

The movie was a great hit after its release and received high appreciation from the media, audience, and Industry. He the established a film-firm called ‘STAFF,’ which stands for ‘Srinivas Thimmaiah A Film Factory’. With the firm his operations included making intriguing documentaries, short films, Classic cinema, Independent feature film. Their goal focuses on authentic topics, to grow the local film sector in India and overseas. One such movie ‘Varnavedam’ released in 2024 is based on their story which tells us the story of how they fell in love with films. In STAFF, they change, shape, and transform stories depicting the culture and ethical values of India. They strive to work with many talented filmmakers, storytellers, musicians, artists, and changemakers.
