Appadanda T. Raghu, known as A.T Raghu, is a prominent Indian director, producer, and actor. He also got recognized amongst the masses for writing the screenplays. He has predominantly worked in Malayalam, Kodava, Hindi, and Tamil Film Industry. His place of birth is Kodagu and was born to the Kodava community. In the year 1955, Raghu stepped into this glorious field, working diligently under the guidance of director B.Vittalacharaya.

He geared his career by stepping into the Tamil Film Industry. He has also collaborated as an assistant director with YR. Swamy, a well-known director in the Kannada Film industry. 'Nyaya Neethi Dharma' starring Ambareesh is his first individuality directed movie. The movie is in Kannada Dialect. This movie got released in 1980 and marked his first individual direction.

Raghu is known to have directed around thirty films as of now. Raghu made his directional debut in the Bollywood with the film 'Meri Aadat' starring one of the eminent actors Rajnikant, released in the year 1984. In the year 1995, he directed and produced a Malayalam movie 'Kattu Rani.' His other famous works include, 'Jenifer I love you,' 'Bategaara,' ' Mysore Jaana,' 'Midida Hrudayagalu,' 'PuttaHendthi,’ and many others too.

He has contributed towards the Kodava Industry by producing various serials like Nanga Kodava Ainemane Gejje-thandu. Ambareesh seems to be Raghu's one of the favorite choices. The majority of his works starred Ambareesh. Ambareesh is spotted in almost twenty films directed by Raghu. However, In the year 2017, Raghu was diagnosed with kidney ailment.

He suffered Kidney failure,with both the kidneys becoming dysfunctional. During this period, he got massive support from Kannada Industry that helped him and provided him with financial aid for his treatment. Raghu's one of the immense achievements that he got appraised as the winner of the award 'SR Puttana Kanagal award' by the Karnataka government in the year 2004/2005.
