Born in Bangalore, Karnataka, Dodda Ganesh is a former cricketer from India. He took part in 4 Test matches and one ODI during the year 1997. Apart from being a right-arm seam bowler he also showed his skill as a lower order batsman.
Ganesh didn’t make an impact with Test matches. He was initially a wicket keeper and also the opening batsman. Ganesh could not become permanent member of the Karnataka team.
Dodda Ganesh’s background is very simple and he had the good wishes of his team members as well some well wishers. The Irani Trophy in 1996-97 was a milestone in his career since he took 11 wickets. The wickets were of Navjot Sindhu and V V S Laxman. He was recognized nationally by this. This performance was instrumental in being selected as one of the members of Indian team that was to play against South Africa.
In his career spanning from 1994-95 and 2005-06 he got 4 wickets. In the later part of his career Ganesh came back to Karnataka side and concentrated on bowling. He also got associated with Janata Dal. Then he took charge of the status of coach of Goa during 2012-13. Now he is part of the members of the Big Boss Kannada Season 4.
