Veena Sahasrabuddhe

Indian vocalist Veena Sahasrabuddhe, a native of Kanpur, was also a composer of Hindustani classical music. She was born in Kanpur on September 14, 1948. Kanpur University awarded her a bachelor's degree in vocal performance, Sanskrit literature, and English literature in 1968. A.B.G.M.V. Mandal awarded her a master's degree (Sangeet Alankar) in vocal performance in 1969. Kanpur University also awarded her a master's degree in Sanskrit (1979). She received a Ph.D. in vocal music (Sangeet Praveen) from A.B.G.M.V. Mandal in 1988. Her vocal technique was influenced by the Kirana Gharana and Jaipur gharanas in addition to the Gwalior gharana. Sahasrabuddhe was well-known for his khyal and bhajan singing. Veena Sahasrabuddhe came from a musically inclined household.

Vocalist Vishnu Digambar Paluskar's student was her father, Shankar Shripad Bodas. Her father was her first teacher, followed by her brother Kashinath Shankar Bodas, who helped her with her early musical training. In her youth, she also studied Kathak dancing. Later, she received a brief period of training with Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar. She provided instruction at the IIT in Kanpur and other locations. She oversaw the music department at the SNDT Pune campus for a while. The book was mentioned in several blogs and newspapers, was a part of Blog Adda's user review campaign, and Rediff named it one of the best five romantic novels by debut authors.
