He is gifted with such a euphonious voice that no one can deny listening to him. Prasad is the senior disciple and had the privilege of learning from virtuoso Rashid Khan at the ITC-Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. He has performed enormously all over India during major festivals as well as abroad too. Khaparde is one of the most proficient musicians all around India. Today, he is considered the greatest vocalist in the field of Indian Classical music. He came from the small village 'Ghatanji ' in the ' Yavatmal ' district of Maharashtra and did not learn from the prestigious musicians. He was born in 1973 to a devoted music family. His father Purushottamji and mother Sindhutai Khaparde always endorsed and motivated him to pursue music. His musical journey commenced with formal music classes at a young age. His first triumph was when he gave his first performance in public at the age of seven.

Khaparde moved out of his hometown at the age of sixteen to become proficient in music. He was under the supervision of the proficient gurus of Gwalior Gharana Shri. Bhalerao guruji, Lt. Pandit D.V Panke, and Lt. Pandita Sumantai Choudhari during his initial musical classes. After a bit, he turned into a scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy of Kolkata, and ever since, he has been under the stewardship of Ustad Rashid Khan. Prasad graduated from Amaravati University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Indian classical vocal music in 1997. He is providing coaching as a Guru in Kala Academy Goa and has won many awards. He has also sung for the Marathi movie ‘Thaang’ by well-known director Amol Palekar.

The list of his performances in India and abroad is unending. His foremost ones are Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav Pune, Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, Jalandhar. His rest of brilliant performances comprise MTV coke studio and fusions with various country’s music. He is an A grade artist of All India Radio as well as of ICCR Delhi. Today, whosoever he is, only because of his sheer talent, hard work, and devotion towards music. He has made his name himself in this crowded music industry. He is greatly recognized as the well-respected, talented virtuoso of the current generation.
