Abhijeet Bhattacharya

Abhijeet was born in Kanpur and belongs to a Bengali family. He got his primary and secondary education from Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Kanpur, and got his higher secondary education from BNSD Inter College Chunni Ganj, Kanpur. In 1977, he did his graduation in commerce from Christ Church College, Kanpur. In 1970, he started singing on stage. He learned and developed his singing style by listening to Kishore Kumar’s songs. In 1981, he went to Mumbai to get a degree in chartered accountancy, but his passion towards music was very strong, therefore he started his singing career.

In the 1990’s, Abhijeet was a playback vocalist. His records became popular when he did a song in a film ‘Baaghi’, which was Anand-Milind’s composition. After Baaghi, he did many songs in different films like Ek Chanchal Shokh Hasina, Har Kasam Se Badi Hai, and Chandni Raat Hai.
