This biopic film on Malala also stars the Indian television actor Reem Shaikh who will eventually play the character of the 20-year-old Malala in the movie.

Reem began her career as a child artist, in the year 2009. Later on, she even appeared in TV shows such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Diya Aur Baati Hum, and others. The film is likely to capture the exotic beauty of Kashmir valley and was shot extensively in locations such as Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Dal Lake.

Even local artists of Kashmir valley participate in the making of the movie. Malala has always been in the limelight of media and it is believed that journalist, Adam B. Ellick made a documentary in the New York Times about her life.

This documentary gave her enough opportunity to rise from an unknown face to a known woman activist. Later, she continued giving interviews in print and TV media. Due to her struggle to attain freedom for child education and woman emancipation, she was the recipient of International Children's Peace Prize by activist Desmond Tutu.

She has set up the Malala Fund (a non-profit organization) to help needy children and even has co-authored 'I am Malala' which sold in the international market like hot cakes.
