Kailash Satyarthi is a social activist. He was born on 11 January 1954, in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, India. Kailash graduated from Barkatullah University with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an instructor and a publisher before dedicating his life to the cause of infant liberation. He was in the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement) in 1980. Kailash also released the Global March Against Child Labour in 1998. He founded the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation, which aims to create a baby-friendly global through studies. He has received many awards and rewards for his work including the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award in 1995, the Defenders of Democracy Award in 2009, and the Harvard Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2015.Â
