Divya Dutta was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on 25 September 1977. She was raised in Ludhiana, Punjab. She was seven years old when her father died and her mother Dr. Nalini Dutta raised her and her borther alone. She is famous Indian model and movie actress. She debuted her movie named Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna in 1994 followed by a drama next year named Veergati. Her next film also remained a success story as she acted the role of Zainab; a muslim wife of a Sikh husband in the film Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh based on the theme of 1947 partition of India. Her kick start success came from the movie Veer- Zaara in which she acted the role of Shabbo which earned best supporting actress nominations of different award including Filmfare. In 2009, she has received the IIFA Award for best supporting actress for the role of Jalebi in the drama film Delhi-6.
Before entering into film industry, she has also worked for regional television commercials and music videos.
She has done marvelous acting both in cinema movies and Punjabi cinema. Other than working in Hindi and Punjabi, she also worked in Malayalam and English movies. She is known as multi-lingual actress and actress of multi roles in different film genres. Presently, she is considered to be the best and notable actress of Indian film industry.
