Rajendra Vaishampayan is a Hindi music director and a Samvadini (Harmonium). He has a degree in computer science and engineering. He is also a management consultant for a multinational company. He is a disciple of Pt. Manohar Chimote, who himself improved the harmonium to play solo performances, later termed the instrument as Samvadini. He also knows to play the tabla and has been learning how to play the instrument since he was five years old.
Rajendra Vaishampayan has toured India and The United States for his solo performances of the samvadini. He has also worked along with renowned artists such as Ustad Zakir Hussain, Smt. He also worked as a staff artiste in Alla Rakha Institute of music, playing ‘Lehara‘ for him and his students. He has also had the rare honor of representing samvadini in the orchestra conducted and created by the great sarod maestro, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Sahib in San Fransisco, United States.
