Lakshman Shahabadi is one of the musicians, lyricists, writers, producers, and directors from India who has brought fame to Bhojpuri cinema in songs and tunes. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was behind the name of Lakshman Shahabadi, from Lakshman Prasad Shrivastav, who said that if you live in Shahabadi, therefore keep the name Shahabadi, simply because Lakshman Prasad Srivastav changed his name to Lakshman Shahabadi. Lakshman's father’s name was Ramlal Prasad, an excellent sitar player. Lakshman, who had been interested in music since childhood, was born into a family where the goddess of music was already seated. He wrote songs for the films Barka bhaiya, Piya Nirmohiye, Ganga Sarju, and the first Hindi film to be made in Bihari, Kal hamara hai. Ram Jaisan Bhaiya Hamar, Hamaar Dulha, and Nayanvan Ke Baan are among the works of Laxman Shahabadi (1986).
