Suhasini Mulay is popular for Marathi films and mother roles in most of the Bollywood films. Of late, he has performed in Hindi TV serials also. She was born in Patna, aon 20 November 1950. She spent her childhood in Patna where she got early education. She is brought up by her mother because her father died when she was only 3 years of age. She adopted interest in acting from her mother, Vijaya Mulay.
She has properly joined showbiz in 1965 when she was chosen as a model for a commercial ad. Then, she was signed for a film ‘Bhuvan Shome’ in 1969. It was a blockbuster film but she did not pursue acting as profession and left for Canada where she joined McGill University for an agricultural technology course with microbiology and soil chemistry. She got degree in mass-communication from that university also.
She was back to India in 1975 and joined
as assistant for a Bengali film. Then, she worked as assistant director with
. Since then she started producing films and still producing films and has produced round about 60 documentaries. She has achieved National Academy Award for her four documentaries.

’. ‘Jaane Kya Baat Hui’ was aired on colors TV. It was about the problems of maternal life of a couple. The story revolves around Shailendra who betrays his wife Aradhna and spends time with Raveena who was with him only for his money. But at the end Aradhna successfully took him out of Raveena’s clutches. Suhasini Mulay performed a supporting role in it.
‘Jabb Love Hua’ was a love story of a millionaire girl Aanya and Raghu a middle class man. Suhasini has performed the role of grandmother of Aanya. In the same way she has essayed the role of mother in ‘Mamta’.

Suhasini Mulay is a great Indian actress. She worked in many Marathi as well as Bollywood movies. She received a National Film Award for her performance in Gulzar's film ' Hu Tu Tu' for the best supporting role. Suhasini did her primary schooling in Patna, Bihar.
In 1965, she got selected as a model in 'Pears’ soap ad, she did a tremendous job in the ad. Because of this, she got chosen by Mrinal Sen for his film 'Bhuvan Shome'. The movie was a hit, and it was said to be one of the best movies of Indian cinema. But, Suhasini did not opt to this field. Instead, she went Canada to pursue her higher studies.
She did specialization in Soil Chemistry from 'McGill University '. She also obtained a degree in Mass Communication from the same. She returned to India and started working under 'Satyajit Ray' in a Bengali movie 'Jana Aranya' as an assistant director in 1975.
Later she adheres 'Mrinal Sen' again as an assistant director in 'Mrigaya'. Since then, she has been lively producing movies. Currently, she's working in a T.V. show 'Udaan' telecasted on Colors. She had a past relationship, but it ended in 1990. She used to be in a live- in relationship with her boyfriend.
Years back in 2011 she got married to 'Prof. Atul Gurtu' on 16th January. The 65-year-old found her soul mate on Facebook when she was 60.
