Sayani Gupta

Sayani Gupta is a relatively new Bollywood actress of Bengali origins. She was born in Kolkata to Kamal Gupta and Maitreyi Gupta. Her father worked as a musician in All India Radio and her mother has a government job in BSNL who always opposed to her career as a Bollywood actress. She doesn’t comes from a family background and even had restrictions to watch movies during her childhood phase. She moved from Kolkata to Delhi to pursue graduation from Delhi University and is an alumni of Lady Shri Ram College for women. She shifted to Mumbai to pursue an acting course in Film and Television Institute of India(FTTI), Pune.

During her college years in Delhi, she worked on projects with theater veteran MK Raina. She is best known for her role of a feisty blind activist in the Shonali Bose’s 2014 release Margarita with a Straw. She had earlier worked in a box office dud Second Shaadi dot com (2012) and Bengali movie Tasher Desh(2012). Sayani is a hardworking and passionate actress and won many accolades and acclaim for her portrayal of a blind girl in the movie Margarita With a Straw.
