Plot
Manas was a factory floor manager in Bhubaneswar. He lost his job and was forced to take up the job of a delivery agent. He is married to Pratima and has two children. His mother is sick, and he has to care for her. As he had to care for four people who were dependent on him, he had no other choice but to accept a delivery agent job. Pratima starts searching for job opportunities to support Manas. She works as a masseuse for a wealthy woman. She doesn’t regret taking certain odd jobs, including a cleaner at a mall. But what was Manas’ idea about his wife’s employment? Did he approve her to work? What issues do the family face after that? All these questions are explored in the rest of the film.
Star Performance
Kapil’s performance is good. He expresses frustration, care for the family, and a few percentage of ego well. Shahana is a good actor, as we know. She again proves that she can pull any role and deliver it with ease. Her mannerisms and body language are perfect.
Analysis
The first half of the film moves at a decent pace in building the characters and explaining the situation. The second half speaks about reality but moves slowly. Besides this, some of the sequences, including that of an activist, seem to be forcedly inserted. Though there is a lot of realism in this film in depicting the lives of middle-class people, a few scenes seem to be a misfit. The visuals are perfect, showcasing the beauty of the city as well as the beautiful expressions of the stars. The editing should have been crisper. The music is pretty okay.
