Malaika Shenoy is an Indian film actress and TV show host. She has had a few minor roles in Bollywood films. She has also worked for the theater and plays. She rose to fame when she played the young journalist Nandita Mallik in the 2010 film, ‘Peepli Live’. Despite being a parallel movie, ‘Peepli Live’ was a success at the box office and thus proved itself to be a dark horse. ‘Peepli Live’ is a satire based on the response given by the politicians and the hype created by the media regarding farmer suicides. The film was India’s official entry to the 83rd Academy Awards. However, it did not go through till the final round. There have been speculations that Peepli Live may have been an adaptation of the 1997 English film ‘Mad City’. Shenoy plays daytime news reporter Nandita Mallik, a young journalist who is curious about what forced the protagonist of the movie, Natha, to attempt suicide. Nandita takes desperate measures to seek answers to her queries.

Shenoy recently worked in a movie titled ‘Sunsil Real FM’. Shenoy plays Radio Jockey Rohini in it. The story deals with four girls who have very limited time in saving a radio station from shutting down. At present, she hosts the 'Techtree' show on UTVi.
