Raj Babbar is an actor turned politician. He is renowned for his work in Bollywood and Punjabi movies. He was born on June 23, 1952, in Tundla, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his graduation from Agra College and then in 1975 did a course in method acting from National School of Drama.

Babbar made his Bollywood debut in 1977 with the movie ‘Kissa Kursi Ka’. He gained famed for his role of Antagonist in the movie ‘ Insaaf Ka Tarazu’, after which he became a regular under the B.R. Chopra banner starring in films like ‘Nikaah’ and ‘Aaj Ki Aawaz’.

Babbar has three children Arya Babbar, Juhi Babbar from his wife Nadira Babbar and Prateik Babbar from his second wife Smita Patil, who died due to complications during childbirth.

He has achieved success in Punjabi movies also and besides that has acted in TV shows like Mahabharat 1988 TV Series, ‘ Bahadur Shah Zafar’ (1986), ‘ Maharaja Ranjit Singh’ (2010) and ‘ Pukaar’ - Call For The Hero (2014).

Babbar is now a member of Indian National Congress, and he competed for the Ghaziabad constituency in 2014. He started his career by joining the Samajwadi Party and was a member till 2006, but in 2008, he was suspended and acceded to the Indian National Congress in 2008. In 2013, he passed controversial remarks against Narendra Modi by comparing him to Adolf Hitler.

He was born on 9 th June 1972 and is the nephew of one of the Bollywood’s best directors Rahul Rawail, who had directed the films like ‘Love Story,’ ‘Betaab,’ etc. He was brought up in Mumbai and had pursued his education from the Maneckji Cooper School, Juhu, Mumbai. He is sharing the rest of his life with Bhawna Dhowan Rawail, and the cute couple has a daughter named Gehna Rawail, who is nine years old. He had started his career as an assistant director to Ramesh Sippy and slowly emanated as a director. He is believed to be a great friend of Salman Khan and has worked in movies with him involving a large integer business. He had debuted as an actor in the film ‘Bodyguard’ starring Salman Khan in 2011 and was given a nickname Tsunami, which was the same as his name in that movie. Later he had also acted in ‘Policegiri’ in 2013 starting Sanjay Dutt couldn’t add much flavor to his career as it had passed the box office unnoticed. Apart from the above he had also acted in the films like ‘Second Marriage Dot Com,’ ‘Gali Gali Chor Hai,’ etc. He debuted as an actor in the comedy TV serial ‘Hum Paanch’ in the year 1995 which received an award for the best comedy serial. He was also the contestant for the 7th season of the TV show, Big Boss, who came with a goal to make everyone laugh and earn a good physique but couldn’t accomplish it and was eliminated in the second round. He said that he was happy to get eliminated as he was missing his wife and daughter and also that he was the only married person on the show. He also said that he had some acidic attack and hence wasn’t feeling well. He is currently acting in the upcoming romantic comedy film ‘Desi Magic’ directed by Mehul Atha and is expected to hit the box office very soon.
