Prateik Babbar is an actor who has also got the show business background. His mother Smitha Patil, was a very good actress. Similarly, his father was an actor in the beginning, but later on he changed his line and became a politician. Initially, he did not begin his career as an actor. In fact, he was in the line of show business when he used to assist the advertisement film maker Prahalad Kakkar. He has assisted him for almost a year and after that he got casted in one of the advertisement films. In this way his acting career began. After that he did many advertisement films for many companies. KitKat was a famous company for which he did many ad films.

The debut performance of Prateik Babbar was seen in the movie produced by named Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. In this movie he got to work with and Genelia D’ Souza. He played the character of brother of Genelia. He got the role of an attention seeker and annoying brother. In his very first movie he got much appreciation and also won many awards. He was nominated for the best male debut and the best supporting actor in the 54th Film Fare Awards. It is because of the environment, he has got at home since the very beginning of his life that he does not get much time in becoming adept to the world of show business.
