Dhritiman Chatterjee is a Bengali stage, film actor and filmmaker. He was born on 30 May 1945. He got fame and name for his lead role and protagonist in Pratidwandi. It was directed by Satyajit Ray and was filmed in 1970. He worked with many famous filmmakers Mrinal Sen, Aparna Sen and many others. He also worked with English filmmakers such as Deepa Mehta, Jane Campion and many more.

He was nominated for many different awards and won many several awards. He was on Jury of the Indian National Film Awards. He likes the idea the book explains each scene and the way the author has modified the story to bring new enthusiasm to the imaginary tale. One of his dreams comes true moments happened when Kedhar Shinde asked him to play the lead role in his Marathi film Aga Bai Arechyaa 2. The movie is a sequel to the super hit Marathi movie Aga Bai Arrecha!. The film is produced by Bela Shinde Narendra Firodia and Sunil Lulla under the production house of Kedar Shinde and the Anushka Motion Pictures & Entertainment. Eros International marketed the movie. The movie had a huge star cast of Sonali Kulkarni, Surabhi Hande, Milind Fatak, Shivraj Waichal. Prasad Oak, Bharat Jadhav, and Siddharth Jadhav also gave a special appearance in the movie. He was last seen in the 2016 Marathi movie Anuraag by Dr. Ambarish Darak. The story of the film revolves around a couple who, after some years of their marriage are attempting to search it again from the point they began. This flick is the first Marathi film to be filmed entirely in Leh Ladakh. This is the first picture to be shot at the height of 18500 feet at Changla Baba. The unique concept and the exotic location had glued the audience to their seats and the movie received good reaction from the critics and the viewers.
