Irshad Kamil

Irshad Kamil is an Indian lyricist and poet who came to prominence with his work in Bollywood movies. He was born in Punjab as a Punjabi Muslim on 5 September 1971. After completing his Diploma in Journalism from Punjab University, he also completed a Ph.D. in contemporary Hindi poetry and a Post Graduation in Hindi language; he chose journalism as his career and joined a newspaper ‘Tribune’ in Chandigarh and covered entertainment and educational news.
