Anjaana Anjaani is a romantic drama film starring Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Vishal Malhotra. It tells the tale of two suicidal people, Kiara, and Aakash who eventually fall for each other. The trailer of the film begins at a comic note and maintains a humorous tone till the ending credits, leading the audience to believe that it’s a rom-com, before blitzkrieg-ing intense, emotional scenes to close the trailer. The trailer is carefully stitched with the film’s best music tracks. The trailer is edited in a way to drag the viewer through the whole gamut of emotions.
The film had a strong marketing scheme. Before its release, it had managed to create a great buzz, but unfortunately, the film failed to live up to the expectations it had set. It largely received negative reviews. Critics criticized its slow screenplay. They gave its ‘predictable’ and ‘boring’ plot thumbs down as well. Some critics praised the performances of the cast. The box-office declared the film a hit as it managed to recuperate its budget almost immediately because of its amazing marketing schemes which resulted in the crowd flooding in, at least during the first few days.
