Javagal Srinath is a former Indian cricketer. He was born on August 31, 1969, in Javagal, Karnataka, India. He wanted to become a cricketer since his childhood. Gundappa Viswanath, a selector for the state team, gave Srinath a chance in the cricket industry. He made his debut with Karnataka against Hyderabad in 1989–90. He took 25 wickets in that season, which made him a known face in the industry. He also played country cricket for Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, and Durham.

In 1991, he made his One-Day international debut in Sharjah. He is the second-best Indian pace bowler after Kapil Dev. After Dev retired, Srinath led the Indian fast-bowling attack for nine years.
