Salim Durani (born December 11 1934 is a former Indian cricketer who played in 44 Tests and five One Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1960 and 1975. Salim Durani was a left-arm spinner and a left-handed batsman born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy in 1955–56. He played for the state until 1969–70, when he moved to Baroda. He made his Test debut for India in the 1960–61 home series against England. Durani had his most successful Test series in England in 1967, taking 24 wickets at an average of 26.83.
Salim was less successful in his other Test series, finishing with 72 wickets at an average of 38.80. He also played his final Test series in 1974–75 against England. Durani was more successful in limited-overs cricket, playing five ODIs between 1974 and 1975. He took nine wickets at an average of 18.88 in ODIs.
After retiring from cricket, Durani worked as a commentator and coach. He was inducted into the Madhya Pradesh Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
