Rebecca Mader is a British actress. Aged 39, she was born on April 24, 1977. Her star sign is Taurus. She is most widely known for essaying the role of Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West in the fantasy drama Once Upon a Time in which the color of her character's skin is green due to the envy she possesses towards others. Her portrayal of a cultural anthropologist Charlotte Lewis in the mystery series Lost earned her worldwide acclaim. She was born as Rebecca Leigh Mader in Cambridge, England in the United Kingdom. She began her career in the showbiz world with modeling and soon started to appear in advertisements for reputed brands like Wella Professionals, Colgate and L'Oreal.
She appeared in minor roles in TV series Madigan Men and Third Watch before getting her big break in the soap opera All My Children. After that, there was no stopping her as she made guest appearances in a number of shows before landing the role of antagonist Zelena. During her various interviews on chat shows, she has admitted to like Disney characters a lot and would love to sing and dance like them. Playing the role of Zelena fulfills her wish to a great extent. Rebecca once said that the writers wanted the character of Charlotte Lewis in Lost to be an American anthropologist, but she convinced the producers to make the character British so that she could do more justice to it.
It went on to become so prominent that her eight-episode stint in the show increased to 20 episodes and as part of the underlying plot of the show, her character had to die eventually. She made her debut on the big screen with the role of Carmen in Mimic 3: Sentinel in 2003 and in June 2013, Rebecca performed for the first time in theater at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. She played the role of Barrie in the hit one-act comedy The Third Date. Mader also enacted the role of Miss Walker in the web series Aim High.
