Daniel De Mussenden Carey was born on December 24, 1969, in Islington, London. Dan Carey is another name for Daniel De Mussenden Carey. Dan Carey is a record producer, composer, mixer, and remixer from England. He manages the record label Speedy Wunderground in collaboration with Heavenly Recordings and maintains his studio in South London. Carey got two Mercury Prize (formerly known as Mercury Music Price) nominations in 2014 for his producing work on two shortlisted albums: Kae Tempest's Everybody Down and Nick Mulvey's First Mind. Carey was nominated for two more Mercury Prizes in 2019 for his producing work.
The work was regarding the studio albums Schlagenheim made by Black Midi and out in 2019 and Dogrel, another studio album by Fontaines D.C out in 2019. Carey has previously worked with London-based companies such as Dust Records, Dust2Dust, and DMI. He was also a member of the band Danmass, who recorded songs on all three labels as well as Skint Records. In 1999, Danmass released one album, Formfreaks, on Dust2Dust.
