Considered to be the first Mexican Actress that penetrated the Indian Film Industry and captured the hearts of the Hindi viewers. She is often mentioned to be the “twin” and “look-a-like” of or perhaps the proper way to say is the other way around.

She was born on February 2, 1978 as Barbara Mori Ochoa from Montevideo, Uruguay. She is a Mexican actress, model, restaurateur-entrepreneur and producer. She travelled back and forth to her mother and father’s place after they separated and finally stayed in Mexico at the age of 12. While serving food at a small diner in Mexico, Marcos Toledo a fashion designer made a breaking offer to become one of her model at the age of 16 to 17. She welcomed the offer and became famous at the young age of 19. She met Sergio Mayer and became the father of her son.

She got her first special appearances from the Telenovelas – “Tric Trac” and “Al Norte del Corazon.” She got an important role in the Mexican-beloved series “Mirada de Mujer” and got her big break as the lead actress for “Azul Tequilla.” She’ve got various theatrical and film performances and also the lead-actress for the Indian Movie “” with . She also dubbed the voice of Cappy – one of the lead-character from the movie “Robots” in 2005. She received various awards like in 1998 and 2005 the “Best Female Revelation” for Mirada de Mujer and “Best lead Actress’ respectively. She won the tag “The Girl of my Dreams” in 2005 and 2006. She got the title Best Actress for the year 2010 for the Movie “Kites” awarded by Premios People en Español and “Mexican Actress of the Year” for 2005, 2009 and 2011 from Premios Canacine.

She was enlisted by the magazine “People with Money” to be the highest paid actress. She is the endorser of the product line CoverGirl Cosmetics. She is the owner of the food chain “Fat Mori Burger” and she owns the football team “Montevideo Angels.” She have her own brand of vodka called “Pure WonderMori – Mexico” and her own line of perfumes and wardrobes “With Love from Barbara” and “Barbara Mori Seduction.” She was diagnosed cancer and also a proud survivor of this illness.
