Zoe Howerska is a Costume Designer. She was born on the 22d of December in the year 1983. She is a native of Bradford city of West Yorkshire which is situated in England, United Kingdom. She is famous for her work with Gruff Rhys and Charlotte Church. She is also currently working as an assistant designer with the cast of ‘Doctor Who’. She is currently a resident of Roath, Cardiff city which is situated in Wales’ state of the United Kingdom. She wanted to be a designer since a very early age, she got her first sewing machine at the age of 16. She used to sew most of her clothes by herself.

At that age, she was sure that she wanted to be a fashion designer. Her influences in the field of fashion have been artists like Dali, Frida Kahlo, Rosetti, Vivienne Westwood and Ishioka Inori. She also has been influenced by the photographic style of Cindy Sherman. Mia is known to use bold colours and inquisitive detail in her designs. Her clothes always give Gothic vibes and that’s what the customers find electric. All the costumes of Charlotte Church’s North America concert were designed by Zoe.

Since the year 2013, Zoe has constantly been working with Church on her style and costumes. With her ‘Nothing is Impossible’ attitude, Zoe has been unanimously considered one of the most creative people in Wales. She has a reputation for colourful, quirky yet inventive designs. Her co-workers describe her as a designer with an unflappable attitude and a surprisingly strong team work ethic. According to her, her most rewarding project was working with Charlotte. Along with various brands and magazines, she has also worked in numerous movies. Some of her most notable works were in the flicks, One Chance in the year 2013, The Reverend and the Panic Button, both of which released in the year 2011.

Carmen Thompson

Carmen Thompson is a Canadian costume and fashion designer of Native American descent. She predominantly works as a freelance designer for movies and TV. Born and brought up in British Columbia in Canada. Her father, Art Thompson, was an artist hailing from the Ditidaht Tribe from Vancouver Island while her mother, Cathy, is from the Kyuquot Tribe. Carmen took inspiration from her parents and developed interest towards designing. After completing high school, Carmen attended Camosun College where she studied Computer Science. She graduated in 1994 and enrolled at University of Victoria for a degree in Business Administration. Later in 2005, Carmen won a scholarship to study fashion designing in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. She graduated in 2007 and in the same year, she appeared as an extra in the movie “Lake Dead”. She also secured a position as a costume designer for different TV and award shows. Her portfolio expanded over time and it went on to cover the wardrobe department as well. She has 62 films to her credits, like the Bollywood movie “Kambakkht Ishq” and Hollywood films like “Death Warrior”, “Saving Grace B. Jones”, “Death Calls”, “The Final Song”, “Blood Pays Blood”, “Legends of the Hidden Temple”, etc. She has also supervised the wardrobe of many awards shows like MTV Awards, Nickelodeon Awards, BET Awards, Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, ESPY Awards and so on. She has also been the costume designer for over 50 TV shows. She is also a businesswoman. She runs her line of clothing called the “TlaKwa Designs”. After her father passed away in 2003, Carmen incorporated his designs into her own work. She, thus, manufactured over 60 hoodies with her father’s handmade design printed onto them, in 2013 especially for the Indian Residential School Survivors Society. Carmen currently resides in New York and continues to work for movies and TV, besides running her business.
