David Ismalone started Thai boxing at the early age of fourteen. Inspired by the sport, he was determined to make it to the top and moved to Thailand in 1997. In Thailand, he trained at camps like Koh Samui, Pi Sen, and Chochutirat in Bangkok. He went up against famous fighters like Payap Premchai and Nokweed Davy. Over his career, David Ismalone participated in over 68 fights but did not win any titles. 

The real break in David Ismalone's career came in the early 2000s when his expertise in Muay Thai landed him a role in the movie 'Ong Bak'.
