Anirudhya (Sasha) Ghoshal, popularly known as just Sasha Ghoshal. He is a Bengali singer. He was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He trained in Indian classical music under the Sangeet Praveen Shanti Chakravorty. During his time in India, he received his classical training from Pt. Arun Bhaduri. He learned this at the Sangeet Research Academy. He learned Hindustani classical music from him. He was taught his famous Rabindra Sangeet training from Smt. Pramita Mallick. His official training in Rabindrasangeet began in 1990 at the Calcutta-based music school Gitabitan in Toronto. Sasha's parents at first did not support his dreams of singing Rabindra sangeet; however, they saw their son's talents and accepted them.
Sasha says one of his proudest moments was when he showed his father, Abhijit Ghosal, his first album. Since then, His father has supported him immensely. Looking at his professional life, Sasha Ghoshal is famous for his take on the Rabindra Sangeet compositions. His various performances are delightful and charming and are highly respected and appreciated by critics and fans. Sasha Ghoshal is known for Salt Bridge (2017), in which he sang the song Madhuro Basanta Eseche. In his earlier albums, he used various forms of music, For example, South American beats to Carnatic music. He used Indian classical instruments like the sarod, sitar, and tabla. He has ten albums on Spotify, with his latest album, "Robi'r Hiya," released in 2022.
He also has multiple singles, such as Ami Je Gaan Gai, Kon Shubhokhone, and Baje Baje Romyobina. His top hits on Amazon Music are Kabhi Bhula Kabhi Yaad Kiya, Aaro Dao Praan, and Amare Tumi Asesh. His first album 'Piyasi' was released in 2006, with eight songs that went on for 31 minutes. He also collaborated with various artists, like Rina Dolon Bandyopadhyay and Rituparna Roy, among many others. He performed at the NABC Banga Sammelan in Toronto in 2013. Sasha's recital led up to a composite program of songs by Robir Robibar. Sasha is a three-time recipient of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute Arts Fellowship. He always says that you find more inspiration for life in Rabindranath's songs than in any other songs written across the globe.
