Rakhi Dutta was born on July 14 in Kalikapur, in the Sonarpur block of West Bengal. Rakhi is one of the most talented singers in the Bengali industry. She was born into a musical family and shared her musical at journey the age of 4. Her first teacher was her mother, Smt. Ratna Devi, from whom she learned Rabindra Sangeet. She also started learning Indian classical music from Pt. Jyoti Kamal and Subra Guha.

She completed her education at Chakdaha College and later went to Kalyani Pannalal Institute. Rakhi got married to Shri Sudhir Dutta an Industrialist, and famous table player, on December 9, 2002. She has two kids; one son and one daughter. Rakhi Dutta is also trained by Shri Devjit Roy, a known name in the Bengali music industry, and Jatileswar Mukharjee in the fields of modern Bengoli playback singing. She has received many awards and honors, including the first position in e.tv Banga and the Sangeet Prabin award from Chandigarh University. She has also been a part of various television performances on Kolkata TV, DD Banga, Gan R Gan, Baaz, the Bengali film, and gave her active contribution to All India Akashbani Kolkata, 106.2 FM, Rainbow F.M., etc.
