Ritajaya Banerjee

Ritajaya Banerjee is a renowned Bengali editor and producer. She was born on 22 September, 1983 in Kolkata, West Bengal. She completed her high school in 2002 at Gokhale Memorial Girls High School under the humanities stream. In 2005, she graduated from the Presidency College in Kolkata with Philosophy Major. After that, she moved to Pune, where she completed her post-graduation in post-production at the Framework Academy. She also worked with Ravi Ojha Productions as a trainee executive. Ritajaya then joined as a trainee editor at a video post-production company named Prime Focus in 2007. She then worked as an editor at different media houses and studios. She has taken 14 years of formal training in Hindustani Classical Music. Ritajaya Banerjee has worked for Television channels, including AXN Media (Multi Screen Media), Zee Network, and Star TV India.

She has an experience of over 18 years in the Bengali and Hindi Film and Television Industries. Ritajaya has many films and projects to her credit as an editor. She worked as the Promo editor and On-Air Promo producer with Zee International in 2013. She was the On Air promotions producer at AXN in 2014, which was directed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. She is best known for being the editor of the ‘Hijli Detention Camp to IIT- An Untold Saga’ directed by her husband Pinaki Sarkar and produced by Alter Ego Films in 2016.

Ritajaya is the editor of various short films, including ‘Bultir Result’ (2018), ‘The Last Order’ (2020), ‘Hungering’ (2021), and ‘Out Of Context’ (2023). She also produced a short film Doppelganger in 2016. Bultir Result has bagged many prestigious awards, including Best children’s film at LifftIndia Film Mahotsav 2019, Best Feature Film on social issues at Woodpecker International Film Festival in 2019, and Best regional film at Open Window Film Challenge held in Kolkata in 2019.
