Sulata Chowdhary was a Bengali actress and a theatre personality. Sulata made her feature debut with Debarshi Narader Sansar in 1960. As a leading actress, her first film was Shesh Paryanta in 1960, by Sudhir Mukherjee, a major success. Chowdhary was born Maya Roychowdhary in 1945 in Kolkata, British India. Her father’s name is Atal Chandra Roychowdhury. Chowdhury had a passion for dancing and music since childhood. Chowdhury learned dancing from Ramnarayan Mishra.
She played the heroine in Sesh Paryanta, directed by Sudhir Mukherjee. After that, she starred in several films in supporting roles.
