Subhrajit Mitra is a well-known Indian Bengali filmmaker. He was born on 18 January 1976. At the age of eighteen, he started his career as a director of documentary for Doordarshan. He has done a post-graduate diploma in computer science and engineering. Also, he completed a part-time two-years diploma course in film direction from the National Institute of Film and Fine Art. He also got a certificate from Harvard University. The certificate was for the Department of the Classics on Ancient Masterpieces on World Literature. Additionally, he received the Iconic Achievers Award of the Rotary Benevolent Club. His great knowledge in literature makes him a famous director and screenplay writer.
He worked as a screenplay writer and director of the film Abhijatrik. Subhrajit Mitra was a director and screenplay writer of six documentaries for Doordarshan. Also, he has directed 52 episodes of a documentary series on ISRO, two more documentaries for BM Birla Heart Research Centre, another documentary for ONGC, and a docu-fiction on the conversation on nature for the Forest Department of West Bengal, and it was a promotional docu-fiction. The documentary on Garo tribes, "Wangala '' was researched, scripted, and directed by Subhrajit. Subhrajit made a documentary based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war and Bangladesh liberation for BSF.
The Ministry of Home Affairs India produced the documentary. His documentary "The Unknown Stories of the Messiah '' was nominated for the Best International Docu Feature award at the Room International Film Festival. The feature was based on Jesus Christ's alleged life in India after his resurrection. Another documentary film, "Flickering Angles," which was produced by the government of India, has traveled to many international festivals.
