Wajed Ali Sumon is a film director of Bangladeshi origin. He was born in the Rajshahi district of Bangladesh. He has been consistently making feature films in Dhallywood. Early in his career, he started working as an assistant director in the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. Initially, he worked as a co-director before partnering with Ruhul Kuddus Khan Shaheen. Together, they were known as Shaheen Sumon. Later on they decided to separate their ways in the year 2014, and Wajed started directing films independently.
