Padma Devi was an Indian Bengali actress and a playback singer. She was born in Bengal, India in 1917. Her real name was Nilima. She started her acting career with the movie Sea Goddess in which she plays the lead role. She is one of the first Indian action heroines in Indian Cinemas. She has also worked in stunt movies like The Amazon. Some of her most-liked movies include Chalti Duniya, Hindustan Hamara, Jini Ram Tini Krishno Ek-i Dehe Ramkrishna, Sree Sree Ramkrishna Kathamrita, Maa Bhabani Maa Amar and many more. Along with an actress, she is also a popular singer. She has sung songs in several movies such as Sati Mahananda, Maharani, Bahen Ka Prem, Sangdil Samaj, Kisan Kanya, and Zamana. Padma has also worked in Bengali and Kannada Cinema. She has acted in more than a hundred movies. She took her last breath on 1 February 1983.
