Priya Malakar

Priya Malakar is an Indian television actress and model who has done several shows in the Bengali language. Born on 5th November 1998 to Nirmal Malakar and Gouri Malakar, Priya Malakar grew up in the Cultural Capital of India, Kolkata. She did her schooling in Dum Dum Ananda Sarada Vidyapith and pursued law from Shyambazar Law College in Kolkata, West Bengal. Priya Malakar started her television journey in 2014 with ETV Bangla show Gouridaan. She played the role of Jaya in the serial, which speaks about the issue of child marriage in our country. In 2015, she featured in the Bengali language crime drama series Goyenda Ginni in Zee Bangla. Priya Malakar played the role of Mimi Mitra.

In 2017, Priya Malakar acted in the show PremerKahini, the remake of the famous Tamil serial Saravanan Meenatchi season 1. This time, she took up the role of the main female antagonist, Laali. Priya Malakar played the character Nisha in the 2017 popular Bengali soap opera Pratidaan in Star Jalsha.

The show ran successfully for a year before airing its last episode on 23 December 2018. Priya was next seen in Star Jalsha’s serial Durga Durgeshwari. Priya Malakarportrayed the role of Urvasi Roy Chowdary in the serial. She received praises for her performance in the show. She has also played the sister of the female lead in Zee Bangla’s supernatural show, Trinayini. The serial got remade in Telugu in the same name as Trinayini. Priya Malakar played the role of educationist Sarala Roy, who is the classmate of Kadambini. She also acts in one of the important roles in the Sun Bangla serial Kanyadaan. The plot of the serial revolves around a father and his five daughters. Priya Malakar is a trained dancer. Her expertise in dance forms is Bharatanatyam and western form.
