Sounak Ray is an Indian actor and writer from Kolkata, West Bengal. He predominantly works in Bengali language films. As a child, Sounak loved cricket but chose his passion, acting, to pursue as a career. He stepped into the industry in 2016 and has been active ever since. His birthday is May the 5th.

Sounak found his love for acting at a young age when he was i. class 6th. He started participating in school in cultural events and theatre when he was in school. He had to take a short break during 12th grade for his studies and continued after finishing school. Since his debut in acting in 2016, he has worked in several short films.

In 2019, he wrote a short film by the name Hello. The short film is a physiological story where two characters miscommunicate over a phone call, and it starts with the word hello.
