Soham’s success story didn’t come in initial days of his career. He catapulted to fame only with movies like Prem Amar and Amanush in which he did outstanding work.

Soham was born in Kolkata on 4 March 1984 to a family of Hindu origin. He made his acting debut at a minor age of three. He won many hearts with his role as a child artist at this tender age itself. In his early days at the cinema, he did seven films playing the role of a child artist. He got involved with Tollywood showbiz industry during early childhood. He also did his schooling at a private school named Patha Bhavan. Soham made his debut in the industry with the Bengali film Choto Bou in the year 1987 as a three-year-old child. In 2007, he first time played the role of a lead actor with the film Chander Bari. Subsequently, in 2008, he acted in the Bajimaat, but the film failed to do well at the box office. 

Subsequently, Soham found it difficult to bounce back. But then with his 2009 film Prem Amar, he gained a lot of recognition, and the film was a success. In Bojhena Shey Bojhena, he gave a terrific performance and won hearts. He is currently one of the brightest stars in the Bengali cinema. Soham Chakraborty got married to six-year long time girlfriend Tanaya Paul on 23 November 2012.

The actor also made his appearance on television as a host of the talent show called Twinkle Dancing Star. The actor also hosted Parar Sera Bouthan and also acted in the popular series of television called Bojhena Se Bojhena.

The actor recently got married in 2012 with Tanaya Paul, and they both make a very understanding couple. The actor is also associated with All India Trinamool Congress. 

The actor is also a winner of many prestigious awards such as Star Jalsha Entertainment Awards for best actor in the movie Prem Aamar, Star Jalsha Entertainment Awards and Tele Cine Awards for best actor in the movie Amanush, and got nominated for Zee Bangla Gourab Somman Awards for best actor.
