Hailing from Bengal, Partho Mukherjee was an actor who has mainly worked in Bengali Cinema. He was born on 21 September 1947. He completed his schooling at Chakraberia Higher Secondary School, Kolkata. At Charuchandra College, he studied b com and later enrolled for M com from Calcutta University but did not appear for exams. Partho got his first break in the movie Maa as a child actor. Atithia was the film in which he was cast as the protagonist. He was one of the well-known and first choices of the Bengali film industry as he was a fine artist. He carried severe, tragic, and comic roles fantastically. He has acted in more than 100 Bengali movies. At the age of 70, on 25 December 2017, he died due to cardiac arrest. Tapan Sinha's Bengali movie Atithia got him recognition. The movie also participated in the Venice Film Festival. He has also acted in many TV serials. Partho Mukherjee was an adorable and bright star of the Bengali entertainment industry.
