Jiben Bose was a famous Indian actor who appeared primarily in supporting roles in Bengali cinema. He was born in 1915 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India. Jiben was born to a famous doctor Jatindranath Bose and is one among sixteen siblings. During his college, he participated in several stage dramas as an actor. Jiben Bose debuted in the Bengali film industry with a silent film in 1932, Kalipada Das's Anjikal, with the co-stars Kaliapada Das and Devbala. In 1936, he appeared in another hit movie Annapurna Mandir, directed by Tincory Chakrabarty.
