Amol Bose was a famous Bangladeshi actor and director. He was born in 1943 in Boalmari, Faridpur, Bangladesh. His birthname was Amolendu Biswas. His father was Binod Behari Bose. His mother was Ashalata Bose. He has been interested in acting since his childhood. He performed in a school play when he was in 7 th standard. Then, he joined Jatra Troupe and Milon Sangha in Boalmari, Faridpur, for some professional experience. In 1963, he entered a theatre to start his career.

He joined it as a performer and director. He gave excellent performances in plays and got a gold medal from the Finance Minister of East Pakistan. Amol Bose was not only famous in his motherland but also abroad. He spent the majority of his career time in Dhaka. He was a senior officer at Jute Mills Corporation. He got retired in 1995. Amol Bose married Swaty Bose, and they have one daughter, Mondira Bose. His debut film was Raha Sanyasi, which was released in 1966. It has been produced by Khan Atur Rahman. He has directed Siraj – Ud – Daulah and Roopban under Rangdhonu Natya Goshthi Productions. Amol Bose has played a role in more than 400 movies. In the early 1960s, he directed Keno Emon Hoy’s movie.

He had also won a National Film Award for best co-artist in Ajker Protibad’s movie. It was directed by Chadhi Nazrul Islam. Amol is famous for Ajker Protibad (1964), Keno Emon Hoy (1975), ans Nawab Sirajuddaula (1989).
