Kaadan is a multilingual film scripted and directed by Prabhu Solomon. Shantanu Moitra composed the music. Ashokkumar cranked the camera and editing is by Bhuvan Srinivasan. Eros International produced the film on a large scale. The film has Rana Daggubati, Vishnu Vishal, Zoya Hussain, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Anant Mahadevan, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Sampath Ram, Master Jayaditya, Rajiv Kachroo, Sheeba Chaddha, Robo Shankar, Bose Venkat, Avantika Chauhan, Bhuvan Arora, Ashwin Raja, Abudhar Al Hassan and Tinnu Anand. Nadackal Unnikrishnan, the elephant, plays the main role. Pulkit Samrat replaces Vishnu in the Hindi version. Similarly, Raghu Babu replaces Robo Shankar in the Telugu version and Ankit Sagar plays in the Hindi version.

Veerabharathi alias Kaadan is a nature lover. He wants the forests to be the dwelling place of the animals and they should never be disturbed. When the Environmental Minister, who had to preserve the environment, plans to destroy the forests to build a luxurious township with theaters and a golf club, Kaadan stands in front of him to drop the idea. When the elephants and Kaadan block their way, the Minister and his people decide to evacuate the elephants from the place with a Kumki elephant's help. Maaran is the trainer of the Kumki elephant and he comes to the forest. There he falls in love with Aruvi, who also fights for the existence of the forest. What happens next? Did Maaran change his mind and accompany Kaadan? The rest of the movie is about that.

Star Performance

Rana is always attractive with his physique and performance. The same goes here. His natural performance is impressive. Vishnu is good in his role. The rest of the stars had done what is required.

After Kumki, Prabhu Solomon has come with a strong subject. His portrayal of Kaadan is fantastic and kudos to the casting team for choosing the right stars. Some of the characters are not defined well, especially the characters of Zoya and Shriya Pilagaonkar. Both of them had a good role. If their roles are dealt with in more detail, they would have been spoken widely. Rana’s love for nature is effectively and neatly shown. The cinematography is fantastic and the music is good too.

What’s There?

  • Performances of the leads
  • Script and execution are good

What’s Not There?

  • Except for a few minor flaws, nothing big as a mistake

Kaadan is a film that showcases not only the importance of forests but the survival of animals. With the good script and performances, the film is impressive and it could be watched once, definitely.
